MHA logos, content, and intellectual property usage policies
I. Introduction
These policies outline the appropriate usage of Mental Health America’s* (MHA) logos, content, research, and intellectual property (IP). Any use outside of the permissions described here requires prior written consent. If your intended use is not covered in this policy, a request form is available at the bottom of this page.
Failure to comply with these policies may result in legal action.
*These are policies of Mental Health America national–not its affiliates. MHA has nearly 150 affiliates nationwide, each operating as independent non-profits to deliver direct services and conduct on-the-ground outreach in their communities.
II. Authorization to use MHA educational resources
MHA creates free and accessible campaigns and educational materials, including guides containing fact sheets, templates, and social media assets, to support mental health advocacy. When using MHA resources, you agree to the following conditions:

You may not remove MHA’s name, branding, or other attribution tags when customizing and distributing these materials. You may not alter fact sheets, worksheets, posters, or other content without permission.

- Distribution: PDF resources can only be linked directly to MHA's webpage or PDF link. They cannot be hosted on other sites, and we encourage linking to MHA resource webpages.
- Translation: Users may translate any excerpts or information that can be edited or adapted according to item 3 so long as the translations are accurate, adhere to the true nature of the content, and in no way stray from the source material’s original intent. If users wish to translate any fact sheets or worksheets, they should contact editor@mhanational.org.
- Commercial Use: Use of MHA educational materials for commercial, non-educational purposes is strictly prohibited. Use of MHA educational materials for commercial educational purposes requires prior written consent, except for the inclusion of credited excerpts within educational materials in accordance with item 4 above.
